You’ve come to see me because you’re tired of being tired and having no sex drive. We talk about all the different aspects to your life … nutrition, activity, lifestyle, relationships, self care, and so on. I’ve devised a plan to help you regain your energy, your health and your sex life, but that means there are changes you have to make. Now what? How do you make those changes stick without feeling like your life has been turned upside down and then resenting me?
Trust me when I say I understand where you’re coming from. When I started on my journey back to health and wellness back in 2011, my life did get turned upside down. I was a SERIOUS carb and sugar addict, I wasn’t very active, my blood sugar was all over the map, libido was almost non existent and I was miserable. I hadn’t been listening to my body so it smacked me upside the head and seized up on me which is how I ended up at a new massage therapist (Andrew) who is also a health and life coach.
That was the day my life changed dramatically. He told me I needed to reduce my circumference (polite way of saying I was fat) and he offered to help me.
I’m not gonna lie to you. The first couple of months were brutal … partly because he was dogmatic about his approval (he needed to be with me and I needed that) and partly because I’m an “all or nothing” kinda gal.
I had to cut out gluten, dairy, refined sugar and caffeine, pretty much at the same time but we did it in quick stages. I’m the type to push limits so I was always texting him asking him if I could have “this” or “that” to which his answer was always “no.”. But it wasn’t all about food. He also got me on a regular workout routine and encouraged journaling. Oh my God … the journaling was worse than the nutrition plan. And then there were the hot Epsom salts baths three (not one, but THREE) times per week. THOSE were the hardest parts of my early journey.
Not only did my food and activity levels get turned upside down, he pushed me to TALK to my husband about SEX! I had tried. He was patient. But my hormones were SO out of whack that I just didn’t have the desire for sex. He put me in touch with a Compounding Pharmacist/Clinical Nutritionist and I ended up on bioidentical progesterone and very low dose of DHEA (it’s the precursor to your sex hormones) and OMG my sex drive came back with a VENGEANCE!!! Poor hubby didn’t know what hit him. Sadly, by that time HIS sex drive was crazy low. What a pair!
So what was my secret to making all these changes and completely turning my life around? MINDSET and accountability. I didn’t want to let Andrew down. I didn’t want to let Barry down either.
I am by no means an expert on mindset practices. I do encourage you to investigate further. What I can tell you is that when you change your mind from feeling like you’re missing something to being excited about how good you feel, it’s really NOT that difficult to make changes. “Mind over matter” is not just a cliché … it’s reality. We can talk ourselves into and out of so many things.
So my question to you is … how uncomfortable area you and how badly do you want to change? If you’re ready to make changes, please email me at sandy@steppingstoneswellnessinc.com. Not only will I give you the information you need (only YOU can do the work) but I also provide support and accountability. I work with both men and women … so there’s no need to be shy
Until next time darlings. Have an awesome week!
