The Big “O”

Orgasms can bring immense pleasure or considerable mental anguish. Sometimes, the pressure to achieve orgasm can be overwhelming, causing it to elude us. Miscommunication with a partner about how to reach orgasm can also add to the frustration. If discussing this is difficult, please reach out to me.

Here’s a brief overview of different types of orgasms women can experience.

Types of Orgasms

  • Clitoral: The clitoris, with over 8,000 nerve endings, is the primary organ for achieving orgasm. These orgasms are intense and can leave you feeling tired. Not reaching orgasm after clitoral stimulation can be frustrating.
  • G-spot: Known as the “watery one” responsible for female ejaculation or “squirting.” The G-spot is linked to clitoral nerves, so clitoral stimulation can warm it up. Remember to relax, as the fluid released is not urine.
  • Vaginal Entry: Often combined with clitoral stimulation for an intense orgasm. Though not as common, it is possible.
  • Anal: Orgasms from anal sex are intense but require clear communication, trust, slowness, ample lubrication, breathing, and relaxation.
  • Multiple: Experiencing a consistent wave of orgasms, one after another, rather than several orgasms throughout one session.
  • Cervical: Located where the vagina meets the lower part of the uterus. Best stimulated with the woman on top or with rear entry. It can be painful initially but can lead to profound orgasms if you relax.
  • Breast: Achieved through breast stimulation alone, although vaginal stimulation can enhance the likelihood and intensity. Breast sensitivity varies throughout the menstrual cycle.
  • Throat: Possible only during deep throating, occurring deep in the back of the air tube. There is a connection between the throat and cervix via the vagus nerve.
  • Mind: Some women can orgasm through meditation, yoga, or self-hypnosis by accessing their subconscious mind, often combined with breathing or pelvic floor exercises.

Foods That Enhance Sexual Health and Orgasms

Given my background in holistic nutrition, of course I’m going to recommend some foods to help increase the chances of having an orgasm.

  • Eggs: High in protein, eggs produce choline, triggering nitric oxide to increase blood flow to the penis and vagina. Rich in vitamins B5 and B6, they help manage stress and balance hormones.  I recommend two per day … eggs that is 😉
  • Hot Peppers: Increase metabolism, stimulate endorphins, and get the blood flowing. Just be careful to wash your hands thoroughly after handling them.
  • Healthy Fats: Found in nuts, avocados, and coconut. These contain Vitamin E and help balance hormones. Keeping good cholesterol levels high is crucial as it is the basis of all sex hormones. Foods like salmon, berries, eggs, and dark chocolate increase good cholesterol levels.
  • Spinach: Rich in manganese, it facilitates estrogen production and is loaded with zinc, which curbs the pituitary hormone prolactin that can cause sexual dysfunction. Zinc is also found in lean cuts of red meat, dark meat poultry, brown rice, seafood, and crumbly cheeses.
  • Honey: Produces boron and other minerals that enhance blood levels of testosterone, crucial for sex drive and orgasms in both men and women. Boron helps metabolize and use estrogen, essential for hormone balance.
  • Oysters: Contain minerals that stimulate sex hormones, brain, and nervous system function, especially zinc, which nourishes the prostate and boosts testosterone.
  • Dark Chocolate: Produces phenethylamine, triggering relaxation, intoxication, and pleasure. It releases mood-boosting, stress-reducing serotonin, stimulates physical contact, and lowers inhibitions. Cacao increases serotonin levels, decreases stress, enhances desire, and facilitates easier orgasms by increasing blood flow to the genitals.

To start your evening off right, consider a meal of oysters as an appetizer, a small lean steak with hot peppers, a spinach salad with eggs, and dark chocolate for dessert. Keep portions small to avoid discomfort during activities. Whether you keep your windows open is up to you 😉

Orgasms have many health benefits. I’ll be getting into these benefits next week so stay tuned.
