Low testosterone and/or high estradiol (aka estrogen, also known as estrogen dominance) can wreak havoc not only on a man’s libido and sexual stamina but his heart, brain, energy level, blood sugar, prostate and muscle retention. Along with less muscle comes the “beer belly” and “man boobs”. But all is not lost. There are ways to boost your testosterone level and reduce your estradiol level.
The biggest issue for men’s health, both sexual and overall health, is testosterone. Did you know that a man’s testosterone level starts dropping at the age of 30? Throw in higher levels of estrogen and it can wreak major havoc on not only a man’s sex drive and stamina, but numerous other areas.
Higher bodyfat percentage equals higher estrogen due to the enzyme known as aromatase which converts testosterone into estrogen in bodyfat. It’s a vicious circle; excess belly fat results in lowered testosterone; lowered testosterone increases fat levels. The way we combat that is to lower bodyfat levels which will increase testosterone levels.
